NOW RELEASED - VOLUME 1 - VOLUME 2 and 3
85 tracks of history
In July of
2000 Starlite Records released the first of a 4 volume set of
Lonnie's original recordings from pre 1983.
This was the first
time that the tracks had been released since their original releases
1959 to 1969.
Each volume consists of 2 CD's. One of them
is a normal CD for a CD player with approximately 26 tracks each
and the second is a CD-Rom for use in a PC computer and some DVD players. The CD-Roms
have stories, video, interviews, photographs as well as the lyrics
and the recorded songs.
Both volumes are extremely well
received by collectors, radio and fans alike so don't miss out
getting yours..
Order
yours now!
Now
Volume 3. 33 songs Lonnie sang on TV Shows from
1959 to 1974. Hear him sing songs that were top of the parades
back then.
He was the first Aussie Star to sing any of the English
Invasion hits
for example..the Beatles BEFORE they were THE BEATLES!
Country songs,
Rockabilly, Pop, Jazz, Cabaret they are all here! This is
the ONLY true CD recollection of the songs that were on Six
O'Clock Rock, Bandstand, Sing Sing Sing, The Johnny O'Keefe
Show, The Joe Martin Show, The Reg Lindsay Show, Maggie Tabara Show and more... |

His show presentations are different
from each other..
Most shows are this..
When we mention a 'Show'
below, we mean it is where Lonnie presents his full show of
about 2 1/2 hours.
He is on stage himself about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours.
He sings most of his major hits and many songs from his albums
and tributes to other greats.
It is usually preceded by a 45 minutes show by either the fabulous
Leemen or an exciting new act that Lonnie wishes to help. Some
of these shows do allow dancing whilst others are pure
concerts.
Check with the venue.
|
At selected venues..
When we mention a 'Dance',
we mean you are free to dance all night and that the night is
structured
usually in 3 sets of about 45 minutes each. Lonnie appears in
2 sets with The Leemen. He sings his hits
and songs from his older and current albums. It is not presented
as a show but as a casual Rock'n'Roll dance.
There's a chance he'll also take some requests.
Put on your dancing shoes baby!!

Lonne and the guys really had a ball singing the songs from, "way back when I was Laurie". Even one of Sydney's most popular radio DJ's spent the night having a good time as did some musos from J.O'K's band and other bands of the 70's. See you next Thurs! |

Filmed show for a DVD
release late May |

Lonnie's return after 10 or so years to this club was astounding to say the least. The large happy audience sang and clapped their way through just over 2 hours of non stop music. Obviously many knew most of the Johnnie Ray songs and when Lonnie came on at the end with an hour of his own hits and 50s-60's rockabilly the place exploded. The night was filmed for DVD release and because of that, no doubt many will enjoy this night well into the future.

Mildura Wintersun Festival
This famous family fun rock'n'roll and nostalgia car festival is coming to the beautiful inland city of Mildura!! Don't miss out on what will be a fantastic time over the whole weekend for the whole family! |
|
What a fantastic time Wintersun in Mildura was. The streets, parks and venues were buzzing with music, bands and stalls and so many were dressed in 50's gear.
The cars were also terrific and attracted much attention. Lonnie's show on the paddle steamer was a blast and the wilder fans just couldn't leave the dance floor (or Lonnie) alone. The second show as in the historic Settles Club and the big auditorium exploded with dance and singalongs. They came from everywhere, Bendigo, Ballarat, Melbourne, Adelaide and all places inbetween. All in all Mildura Wintersun has to be an annual event and one not to miss!!

First time at this club in Fremantle and it was definitely memorable. The full seated house sang along to both The Leemen's and Lonnie's songs and got up and danced away any cares they may have had. The club, Springer and his friends did a great job and Lonnie thanks Johnny Young on 6iX, Harvey Deagan on 6PR, Chris on 6PR and Peter Newman, Peter Waltham and Neville Limpus of Curtain FM for there support.
