of history
In July of 2000 Starlite Records released the first of a 4 volume set of Lonnie's original recordings from pre 1983. This was the first time that the tracks had been released since their original releases 1959 to 1969.
Each volume consists of 2 CD's. One of them is a normal CD for a CD player with approximately 26 tracks each and the second is a CD-Rom for use in a PC computer. The CD-Roms have stories, video, interviews, photographs as well as the lyrics and the recorded songs.
Both volumes are extremely well received by collectors, radio and fans alike so don't miss out getting yours..
Order yours now!

Now Volume 3 is out. 33 songs Lonnie sang on TV Shows from 1959 to 1974. Hear him sing songs that were top of the parades back then. He was the first Aussie Star to sing any of the English Invasion hits
for example..the Beatles BEFORE they were THE BEATLES!

Country songs, Rockabilly, Pop, Jazz, Cabaret they are all here! This is the ONLY true CD recollection of the songs that were on Six O'Clock Rock, Bandstand, Sing Sing Sing, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, The Joe Martin Show, The Reg Lindsay Show and more...

These two presentations are different from each other

Most shows are this..
When we mention a 'Show' below, we mean it is where Lonnie presents his full show of about 2 1/2 hours.
He is on stage himself about 1-1/4 hours.
He sings most of his major hits and many songs from his albums and tributes to other greats.
It is usually preceded by a 45 minutes show by either the fabulous Leemen or an exciting new act that Lonnie wishes to help. Some of these shows do allow dancing whilst others are pure concerts.
Check with the venue.

At selected venues..

When we mention a 'Dance', we mean you are free to dance all night and that the night is structured
usually in 3 sets of about 45 minutes each. Lonnie appears in 2 sets with The Leemen. He sings his hits
and songs from his older and current albums. It is not presented as a show but as a casual Rock'n'Roll dance.
There's a chance he'll also take some requests.

Put on your dancing shoes baby!!

A collection of old fans, new fans,Johnnie Ray fans from the past and those curious to see just who this guy was, crammed into the venue. By the 9pm showtime one could feel the electricity in the air. After the opening video to CRY!, Lonnie came on and powered thru 26 of the 500 songs Johnnie Ray had recorded. The applause after every song was amazing if one thought that most of these songs had been packed away and had not been heard from a stage in at least 20/30 years at best. From the tenderness of 'With these hands' to the raunchy, 'Such a Night' the audience had no problem letting everyone know they were excited and appreciative. Lonnie's own 'Best of Show' was also a winner as usual and after he had sung 50 songs and had been on stage singing for 2 3/4 hours, the standing ovation was deafening and was still going on as the band unplugged and unpacked. This show has international racing wheels, all it needs is a racetrack and a promoter who believes. Watch this pace for more dates later in the year. Also http://www.thecryshow.com. 'The Best of Lonnie Lee'
Lonnie and The Leemen

The 95% pre booked then packed house was on side from the start. They loved the Leemen's show as they charged through some of the greatest hits of the early Rock era. From the moment the video of Lonnie with glimpses of him in 1959 on B&W TV started, Lonnie had them. Even with his sore throat he powered on for 90 minutes and 32 songs and they still demanded more. An excellent venue, staff and production crew topped off with a definite Lonnie Lee audience. Always a great night.

Lonnie and the band really enjoyed themselves. Thank you Smithfield for another wonderful memory.
Sat 14th Adamstown RSL Newcastle   This really modern club jumped out of its skin to the applause by the near full auditorium crowd. They sang and laughed, danced and had a great time watching Lonnie and The Leemen do their show. The tribute to J.O'K went down a treat as did all the songs, old and new. Special guests such as John Paul Young and Bob MacInotsch were in the audience with their guests and Bobby did a song which the crowd loved. Lonnie has already been invited back!

Thanks a lot to all the folk who came to the shows during the festival. The songs and shows were really well accepted and 2007 gave us another record breaking attendance figure of  95%.
The new songs from the 'Light of Love' and yet to be released 'Northwest Mail' album went extremely well and it looks like there's another hit album on the way.

Many friends and fans came to several shows and tell us they could have coped with even more! Lonnie says to say 'Thank You for your wonderful support'. Yes we're getting ready for next year and maybe will include a night show at another venue as the North Tamworth Bowls is already booked out at nights. Let us know if you'd like a night show!

Wow! What a great night! The place was abuzz and the show rocked! Many of audience from all over Sydney couldn't believe the way he sang and they really loved the new songs. The very pro sound and light techies did a magnificent job which always helps the show. Several radio stations were represented including 2UE ,2CH, 2GB, 2GLF, 2WOWFM, 2NBC, Hawk Radio and others. Once again Rooty Hill and Lonnie Lee are a magic mix!

The beautifully set out room was stacked to capacity and in between the auctions, prizes and speeches, the dance floor was chockablock full bopping along to Lonnie and The Leemen. The mostly young audience loved the 50's-60's music theme and no doubt many didn't realise it would really help make the night a memorable one. The very successful event raised much needed funds for a very important cause.

Crash Craddock took beating hearts back to their teenage years with his 'Boom Boom baby' and other hits whilst Bobby Vee's warm personality and his great hits, just couldn't help but capture the audience.

Lesley Gore with her Gold Hits showed she was still an innovative stylist and her hits like, 'It's my Party' brought back memories of 'younger days'.
